Health literacy, and especially diabetes related literacy, is very low within the Hispanic population, even though they are twice as susceptible to suffer from the disease as their Caucasian counterparts. To combat this reality, we helped Boehringer Ingelheim launch “Cuida Tu Don de la Salud” (Take Care of Your Gift of Health), a truly comprehensive campaign that not only educated consumers in a culturally relevant way, but provided them with tools to assess their risk and obtain more help if necessary .
